CURRENT IGNOU REVALUATION STATUS - SEPTEMBER 2026

The official IGNOU online re-evaluation portal is currently showing the application facility for TEE June 2026 / December 2025 students. The current rule allows re-evaluation requests within 40 days from declaration of the relevant result, while a copy of the evaluated answer script must be requested within 30 days. Do not rely on older 30-day revaluation guides.

Open Official IGNOU Re-Evaluation Portal

Apply for re-evaluation and/or a copy of your answer script after the relevant TEE result is declared.

Check IGNOU TEE Result

Confirm that the result for your course has been declared before you start the revaluation form.

Use this internal guide to understand the result page, course-wise marks and what to check before revaluation.

If your IGNOU Term-End Examination (TEE) marks look much lower than expected, revaluation gives you an official route to have an eligible theory answer script evaluated again. It is not a guarantee that marks will increase, but it is the correct process when you genuinely believe your written performance and the awarded marks do not match.

This updated IGNOU Information guide covers the revaluation form 2026, eligibility, fee, 40-day window, answer-script copy, application steps, result checking and grade-card follow-up. It also corrects outdated 30-day revaluation advice and unsupported success-rate claims.

What Is IGNOU Revaluation?

IGNOU revaluation is a fresh evaluation of an eligible Term-End Examination theory answer script. Students often search for “IGNOU rechecking”, “IGNOU marks rechecking” or “paper rechecking”, but the University’s formal facility is re-evaluation of the answer script by another evaluator.

The process is meant for cases where a learner is dissatisfied with the marks or grade awarded in a theory TEE. It is not the same as asking IGNOU to change marks simply because the result is disappointing. Revaluation may lead to a higher score, no change, or a lower re-evaluated score. Under the current rule, however, the better of the original and re-evaluated scores is considered for the student record.

Who Can Apply for IGNOU TEE Revaluation?

You should consider the IGNOU revaluation online form only after the result of the relevant course has been declared and uploaded on the IGNOU website. Before payment, check that the paper is actually eligible.

  • Re-evaluation is available for eligible Term-End Examination theory answer scripts.
  • It is not available for assignments, projects, dissertations, practicals, lab courses, workshops, seminars, internships or similar non-theory components.
  • Certain MCQ/OMR-based papers are excluded from the online re-evaluation/copy facility; the current portal displays the affected course codes in its instructions.
  • A second re-evaluation of the same answer script is not permitted.

ASSIGNMENT MARKS NOT SHOWING?

Do not use revaluation for an assignment problem. Revaluation applies to eligible TEE theory answer scripts, not assignments. Check your assignment submission/status route instead.

IGNOU Revaluation Last Date 2026: Understand the 40-Day Rule

There is no single universal revaluation date that automatically applies to every learner. The important rule is the time counted from the date on which the relevant result is declared and made available by IGNOU. Under the revised rule, the revaluation request must be submitted within 40 days from result declaration.

This matters because IGNOU TEE results are often released progressively. One course may appear on the result portal before another. Therefore, do not depend on an old WhatsApp post or a blog using a blanket date. Open your current result, verify the course code and use the official revaluation portal while your course is still within the allowed window.

IGNOU Revaluation Fee 2026 and Answer-Script Copy Fee

Service

Fee / Time Limit

Re-evaluation of answer script

₹750 per course • within 40 days

Copy / photocopy of answer script

₹100 per course • within 30 days

The revaluation fee is charged separately for each course. If you apply for three eligible theory courses, the revaluation fee is ₹2,250. Select the course codes carefully before saving the request and generating the payment link.

The current official online portal accepts payment through debit card, credit card or net banking. Follow only the payment options displayed on the live IGNOU portal; do not send money to an agent or a third-party website.

Should You Request a Copy of the Answer Script Too?

If you want to see the evaluated answer script, IGNOU provides a separate copy facility. The current fee is ₹100 per course and the request must be submitted within 30 days of result declaration. The live portal states that the scanned answer script may be sent to the email ID entered in the form or a photocopy may be sent by post, depending on the processing route.

There is one practical rule students should not miss: if you apply for revaluation first and the answer script has already been processed for revaluation, the concerned evaluation centre may no longer be able to provide its copy. If you need both services, apply for the answer-script copy before revaluation or select both together when the portal permits it.

How to Apply for IGNOU Revaluation Online - Step by Step

  1. Check the relevant TEE result first. Confirm your enrollment number, programme, course code and marks. If you are checking the June session, use the IGNOU Information June 2026 TEE Result guide for a student-friendly walkthrough.
  2. Open the official IGNOU Online Application for Re-Evaluation & Copy of Answer Scripts. Avoid third-party login pages.
  3. Read the current General Instructions before proceeding. The portal itself lists excluded examination types and important copy/revaluation conditions.
  4. Login using the details requested on the live page, including enrollment number and programme code.
  5. Choose whether you are applying for re-evaluation, copy of answer script, or both where available.
  6. Select the correct course code. Recheck it before saving; the fee is course-wise and incorrect information can create a payment/application problem.
  7. Enter the requested contact details. If applying for a copy of the answer script, keep your IGNOU ID card ready because the portal asks students to upload it.
  8. Save the request to generate the payment link, complete the online payment and retain the acknowledgement/payment proof.

How Long Does IGNOU Revaluation Take?

Avoid depending on a fixed “30-45 days guaranteed” claim. The current online portal explains how to apply but does not promise one universal processing date for every application. Processing can depend on the answer script, evaluation centre and workload. Check the official revaluation/result page periodically and keep your acknowledgement safe until the revised result is visible.

MOBILE-FRIENDLY TIP

Save the application acknowledgement and payment receipt as a PDF in your phone and also keep one screenshot in a clearly named folder such as “IGNOU Revaluation 2026”. This makes complaint or follow-up much easier.

How to Check IGNOU Revaluation Result 2026

After processing, the revised result is made available through IGNOU’s result/revaluation system. Keep your enrollment number ready and select the relevant TEE/revaluation result option. Compare the updated marks with your original result and save a copy for your records.

What Happens After Revaluation?

If the re-evaluated score is better, the revised marks are incorporated into the learner’s record as applicable. If the original score is better, the better-score rule protects that result. A second revaluation is not available, so treat the first application carefully and make sure the course code is correct.

The revaluation result and grade-card record may not always appear at exactly the same time. After the revised result is visible, check your grade card again later and keep both screenshots. If an update remains missing for an unusually long period, use your acknowledgement, payment reference and result evidence when contacting the appropriate IGNOU support route.

When Revaluation Is Worth Considering - and When It Is Not

Revaluation is most useful when you have a genuine academic reason to question the theory marks—for example, you completed the paper confidently, attempted the required questions and the awarded score is unexpectedly inconsistent with your preparation or other papers. It is not a guaranteed marks-increase service, and there is no reliable official percentage showing how many students gain marks after revaluation.

Before paying, also check whether your real issue is something else: missing assignment marks, an incomplete result, an incorrect course code, an absent status or an examination-form problem. Those issues require the relevant student-service process rather than revaluation.

Common IGNOU Revaluation Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using the old 30-day revaluation deadline instead of the current 40-day rule.
  • Confusing the 40-day revaluation window with the 30-day answer-script copy window.
  • Applying for assignment, project or practical marks through the revaluation facility.
  • Selecting the wrong course code or examination session.
  • Waiting until the last day and risking a payment or portal issue.
  • Applying for revaluation first when you also want the answer-script copy, then discovering the script has already been processed.
  • Trusting an unofficial “marks definitely increase” claim or a made-up success rate.
  • Not saving the application acknowledgement and payment proof.

Final Words

For IGNOU Revaluation 2026, the most important numbers are simple: ₹750 per eligible course, 40 days for revaluation, ₹100 per course for an answer-script copy, and 30 days for the copy request. The online portal is the safest source for the current session and payment route.
