Eligibility for IGNOU Online Programs depends on the level of the program
1. Undergraduate (UG) Programs
- - Must have 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized board.
- - Some UG programs may allow admission even if you haven’t cleared 10+2, provided you complete IGNOU’s Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) first.
2. Postgraduate (PG) Programs
- - Must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- - Some PG programs may require a specific subject background (e.g., M.Sc. in Dietetics requires graduation in science/home science/food science, etc.).
3. Diploma & Certificate Programs
- - Usually require 10+2 qualification.
- - Some certificate programs are open even to Class 10th pass candidates.
- - For skill / technical certificates, work experience in the relevant field may be accepted.
4. Foreign / International Students
- - Eligible for online programs if they meet minimum educational qualifications.
- - Must pay the international fee structure and provide proof of previous qualification equivalence.
5. Professional Programs (MBA, MCA, B.Ed, Nursing, etc.)
- - MBA (Online): Graduation with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories); admission through IGNOU’s entrance test (OPENMAT) or other accepted criteria.
- - MCA (Online): Graduation in BCA / Computer Science / IT; OR any graduation with Mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level.
- - B.Ed (Online): Bachelor’s/master’s degree with 50% marks + teaching experience; admission via entrance exam.
- - Nursing-related programs: Must have relevant nursing qualification + registration with State Nursing Council.
